Location by Kizzy Stayne: A Soft-Landing Love Anthem For Diaspora Hearts
Musically, Location fits well within the sonicscape of Afrofusion familiar to the artist. Kizzy Stayne's style has always been one that slips into the bear with a relaxed, conversational tone that lets the rhythm breathe

This year, we've witnessed Kizzy Stayne steadily become active in a bid to cement his artistic identity. In the first quarter of 2025, Kizzy Stayne hit us with Run. And now, in the final quarter, with the arrival of Location, we see a confident, late-year offering that reinforces why the UK-based Nigerian act continues to draw attention across borders.

Released on November 20th, Location glides into your playlist with a mischievous lightness.  Where Run wrestled with heartbreak and accountability, and Oshomo (released in 2024) flirted with unexpected romance with charm and steeze, Location plants itself comfortably between desire and irony. On this track, Kizzy offers a humorous confession, “there’s no true love in London”, yet he finds himself magnetically pulled toward a particular love interest. The contradiction is intentional. It creates a playful tension that mirrors the lives of diaspora love life where everyone is either booked, busy, heartbroken, or pretending not to feel too much.

Musically, Location fits well within the sonicscape of Afrofusion familiar to the artist. Kizzy Stayne's style has always been one that slips into the bear with a relaxed, conversational tone that lets the rhythm breathe like someone casually leaning back in a dimly lit club. You can hear how confident he is in his appeal, waxing lyrical dexterity with the Afrobeats core without raising his voice. His background as a producer is evident in the clean layers and overall precision of the track.

Lyrically, the song maintains the emotional openness that defines his work. Kizzy has consistently sung for people navigating life's soft tension, lust, love, longing, struggle and ambition. This is evident from his debut EP, Beautiful Scars, a multi-thematic offering that showcases Kizzy Stayne's range. This time, on Location he embraces the lighter, flirty edge of that spectrum. The sentiment is airy, witty, dipped in the thrill of wanting someone and being wanted back. For listeners living between cultures in the UK and Nigeria, the narrative feels instantly familiar, that diaspora romance with all its chaos, humour, and hope.

But perhaps the most exciting thing about Location is that it continues to signal evolution. If Run was for the wounded whose hearts were ripped and carted away, and Oshomo for the swaggering, suave romantics, Location is crafted with December in mind. You know, sweaty dancefloors, dim rooftop bars, and that lustful energy as Kizzy himself implies with the hook. It’s a track that thrives in nightlife, but still slips comfortably into those everyday playlists where you’re choosing vibes over intensity.

With the momentum he has been quietly building across EPs, singles, and steady streams, Location becomes another reminder that Kizzy Stayne is more than a rising act. It is a statement for the versatile Afrofusion performer. Because one thing is clear, Ọmọ Folashade understands the ecosystem he’s building. Each release is a carefully crafted page in the emotional diary he’s sharing with listeners, from pain to charm, from longing to lust, from ambition to soft joy. And with his sophomore EP in view, he’s closing the year with a sound that feels like a bat signal for bigger moments.

Whether you affirm or not, Kizzy Stayne is here steadily, confidently, and with the kind of ease that tells you he’s just getting started.
